What is a good amp setting for an electric guitar playing folk music?

I play mostly acoustic guitar when I'm classes, but many more prefer the feeling of my Telecaster to practice and play with, but I never put my amp and / or sold for a sign that I should be able to play decently with popular songs. I have a Stratocaster, compress a Boss CS-3, and a B-52 A 112 all tube amp with severe mid, high, reverb and volume. I'm not great with the amp and tone settings, so any help would be great.

It is a call very difficult to train than you describe. If I had to take a hack at it, I start by not using the compressor at all until that the sound I wanted, then I'd see if I wanted, even to put in. Its been so long since I had a start or Tele ... Does the 5-selector Route? I think I remember using the neck or neck-middle position, earning very low and very heavy cuts in the media. Reducing both the tone and the volume controls a little ... you do not, the amplifier is saturated, which removes the "acoustic" sound. Ideally, you want an EQ pedal or an acoustic simulator (essentially a glorified equalizer ).... and cut the lower midrange (400-800 Hz special) and the lowest low (below 200 Hz I think). I would start with just a touch of reverb, treble at 7, the media at 4, bass at 5 years with my guitar in the neck or neck-East or the bridge position (I forget which), both with the volume buttons rolled tone ... the tone control perhaps one quarter of the way, the volume control to half way back. For the amplifier in a very quiet signal to reduce congestion / Clipping, thus maintaining a more natural, and cutting the midrange to reduce the body "/" Heat of the electrical .... medium frequency in an electrical system does not sound like a mid-frequency noise ... em and cut '. Of course, this is only a starting point, but if I go first. I dial the volume of the guitar in May the most important part of the equation ... Playing with him at length, how Okay? Probably maintain the relatively low threshold (less than half?), I think. Play with it ... I did not use a compressor a certain time. Or maybe I think the door noise? Dang .... Try it with the threshold very high and very low, and seeing you closer. Let me try beat the FX loop, but I think it would be the best way to get there. EDIT 2: If you use the amp mainly for things and not popular for high gain stuff, so why not change the preamp tubes? If you 12AX7 in the preamp will gravitate toward the biggest gainers of nature .... if swap em 'with something that is compatible, but profits down. This gives a cleaner in general, but perhaps more quietly. I suggest 5751 12AT7 or especially if you can find one by JJ, which is probably fine, but Electroharmonix Groove Tubes and other opportunities ... Even if you change Only the first, which is probably the best idea, then you will see a big change in how it responds to your amplifier. The other tubes do are not made in the context of an impact, and usually at least one of them must be high enough to offset losses in the tone of the stack (ie, EQ), just try to swap the V1 (first) tube, as I said.
